Transport Scotland have published a new Transport Noise Action Plan for 2025 – 2028.
Transport Scotland have published a new Transport Noise Action Plan (TNAP) for 2025 – 2028. These are currently required to be produced on a five yearly cycle, based on the results of strategic noise mapping, by the Environmental Noise (Scotland) Regulations 2006. The TNAPs require the Scottish Government to introduce measures intended to reduce harmful effects of environmental noise, on a prioritised area basis. Transport Scotland report that under the 2019 – 2024 plan measures implemented included noise barriers at five locations and low noise road surfacing in Noise Management Areas, and work to embed noise into policies. This consultation covers noise from roads and railways and identifies candidate noise management areas.
